1. Use Petal as a defined starting point, not proof of demand
The Census record identifies Petal city as a municipality in Forrest County and records a 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate of 11,294, with a margin of error of 37. That helps define the place and its county relationship. It does not tell you how many people search for a lawyer, which practice areas they need, how many firms compete for those searches or whether a page will generate a matter. For a Petal firm, the first product decision is therefore geographic scope. Do you serve Petal only, all of Forrest County, selected Mississippi counties or the entire state? Bosseo’s public product text says its engine can be scoped statewide or to counties selected by the firm.
Recommended approach
Treat Petal and Forrest County as an explicit coverage choice. List the locations where your firm can actually consult with, represent or otherwise serve clients, then compare that list with the counties your licenses, court practice and operating model support. Do not expand the footprint merely because a larger population or more cities appears attractive.
