1. Define the geography before you interpret a number
The U.S. Census Bureau records Austin as a municipality in Minnesota and places it in Mower County. Its 2020–2024 ACS 5-year population estimate is 26,358, with a margin of error of 28. That is geographic and population context only. It does not establish legal demand, competition, search volume, calls, matters or revenue. A dashboard review should therefore distinguish Austin city from Mower County, any broader service area and any metropolitan geography your firm chooses to track. A city label should not silently stand in for the county or for every person who could contact the firm.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how location is defined in each relevant measure. Decide whether a report should separate Austin from Mower County and other service areas, then record that choice beside the metric. Do not approve a location-based conclusion unless the geographic scope matches the underlying data.
