1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
The Census identifies Zeeland as a municipality in Ottawa County, Michigan. That relationship helps define an editorial boundary, but it does not establish where prospective clients search, where incidents occur, or which courts, agencies, highways, or communities matter to your practice. A Zeeland firm may serve only Zeeland, several Ottawa County communities, a wider Michigan market, or a practice area that is not primarily local. Those are different coverage decisions. Bosseo’s public Legal News description says stories are matched to a firm’s practice areas and state. Before booking a review, decide whether Michigan-wide coverage is appropriate, whether Ottawa County references are useful, and when a story is too remote to publish under your firm’s name.
Recommended approach
Prepare a written coverage map for review: Zeeland, Ottawa County, Michigan, and any additional service area your firm actually handles. Ask how a proposed page would distinguish statewide legal developments from an incident that has no meaningful connection to the people you serve. Do not treat Zeeland’s population as a proxy for demand.
