Set the geographic boundary before you set the budget
Watertown is a charter township in Clinton County, Michigan. That relationship matters when you define the area your firm is prepared to serve, but it does not answer whether every inquiry from Watertown is appropriate for your practice. A law firm may serve the township, nearby communities, a wider county area or another approved territory; the correct boundary depends on your eligibility, court coverage, office policy and case economics. Bosseo’s public Local Service Ads description identifies category and geography targeting as part of its service. The useful decision is therefore not “How large should the audience be?” It is “Which locations can this firm responsibly accept, and how will out-of-area inquiries be identified?”
Recommended approach
Bring a written service-area policy to the consultation. Separate Watertown from any surrounding locations you may consider, and identify locations that should be excluded. Ask how geography will be reviewed when a caller’s residence, incident location or court location does not match the selected area.
