1. Define the Springfield footprint before planning pages
Springfield is recorded as a city in Calhoun County. That relationship matters because “Springfield,” “Calhoun County,” nearby municipalities and Michigan are different geographic scopes. A page for Springfield should not imply that your firm serves every part of the county, and county coverage should not be described as statewide coverage. Bosseo’s public product description says firms can choose a whole state or only selected counties. For your firm, the first decision is therefore geographic authorization: which places do you actually serve, and which places should be excluded?
Recommended approach
Start by documenting Springfield, Calhoun County and any additional Michigan areas your firm intentionally serves. Treat statewide coverage as a separate choice. Do not use the city’s population estimate to justify a footprint; use your service territory, licensing, court practice and ability to respond to inquiries.
