1. Set the geographic boundary before judging performance
Springfield is a municipality in Calhoun County, not a synonym for the county, a metropolitan area or all of Michigan. That distinction matters when a managing partner asks whether a lead came from Springfield. A record should preserve the location attached to the inquiry rather than treating every Michigan visit as local. The Census population estimate is useful for defining the municipality, but it cannot answer whether residents search for a particular practice area or whether a channel produces cases.
Recommended approach
Agree on the geographic labels your firm wants to review before evaluating attribution. At minimum, decide whether reports should separate Springfield city from Calhoun County and from other Michigan locations. Ask Bosseo to show how location, practice area and source can be reviewed together without turning population into a demand forecast.
