1. Define the geography before you interpret the numbers
A Plymouth-focused report can become misleading if “Plymouth” quietly expands to Wayne County, a metropolitan area, Michigan or an undefined service radius. The Census record identifies Plymouth city and its relationship to Wayne County; it does not establish where prospective clients search, call or retain counsel. A credible review should therefore distinguish city, county, broader market and statewide keyword coverage. Ask which location labels appear beside rankings, calls, leads and matters, and whether a city value refers to the person, the search target, the landing page or the source attribution.
Recommended approach
Bring a written geographic definition to the consultation. Decide whether the dashboard should separate Plymouth city from Wayne County and any other area your firm serves. Do not treat the city’s population as a forecast. Treat it as a reason to make geographic definitions explicit.
