1. Define the service area around Milan before spending
Google Local Services Ads use service areas and profile information to determine where a firm may appear. For a Milan firm, the relevant geographic question is not simply whether an ad can mention Milan. It is whether the firm intends to serve Milan city, clients connected to Monroe County, clients connected to Washtenaw County, or a narrower combination. Those are different geographic scopes. The Census record identifies Milan as a municipality and records relationships with both counties; it does not show where prospective clients search or where the firm should accept matters. Bosseo’s public Local Service Ads page describes category and geography targeting as part of its program.
Recommended approach
Prepare a written service-area decision before launch. Separate locations the firm actively serves from locations it would consider only after reviewing a matter. Ask Bosseo to show how those choices would be represented in the profile and how inquiries from outside the intended area would be reviewed.
