1. Start with the geographic definition
A Menominee firm should decide whether a dashboard view is meant to describe Menominee city, Menominee County, Michigan more broadly, or another service area the firm chooses to evaluate. Those are different geographic questions. The Census record identifies Menominee city as a municipality in Menominee County, but it cannot tell you which places generate inquiries or signed matters. A useful review therefore separates location labels from performance conclusions. Ask to see how city, county, state and other location fields would be represented before treating a geographic total as a market result.
Recommended approach
Bring your preferred service-area definitions to the consultation. Ask which location dimensions can be reviewed, how ambiguous locations are handled, and whether a location label is based on a caller’s information, a page, a campaign, or another field. Do not use Menominee’s population estimate as a forecast.
