1. Start with the geography you actually serve
The U.S. Census Bureau records Lodi township as a municipal-town in Washtenaw County. Its 2020–2024 ACS 5-year population estimate is 6,394, with a margin of error of 36. That is eligibility evidence only; it does not establish legal demand, search volume, competition, inquiries or revenue. For attribution, this distinction matters. A firm should decide whether a record tagged “Lodi” means a person in Lodi township, a matter associated with Washtenaw County, or a broader service area. Those are not interchangeable categories. A clean geographic definition makes later reporting more useful: a lead can be reviewed against the area the firm intended to serve rather than against an imprecise location label.
Recommended approach
Bring your service-area definitions to the consultation. Decide which locations belong in intake, which pages or campaigns represent them, and whether reports should separate Lodi township from Washtenaw County or any broader Michigan coverage. Do not treat the township population as a forecast of leads.
