1. Define the geographic relationship before measuring a lead
Handy township and Livingston County are distinct geographic references. The Census record identifies Handy as a municipal-town and records its county relationship as Livingston County. A page or campaign that mentions Handy should not automatically be treated as county-wide coverage, and county activity should not automatically be attributed to Handy. The population estimate can help confirm that Handy belongs in the firm’s stated service footprint, but it cannot establish how many residents need legal help or how many people search for a lawyer. Lead Attribution is most useful when the firm decides which geographic labels, landing pages and service areas it wants to distinguish.
Recommended approach
Before reviewing attribution, list the geographic distinctions that matter to your practice: Handy township, Livingston County, Michigan, and any other areas you intentionally serve. Decide whether those distinctions should be reviewed as separate landing-page, inquiry or matter categories. Do not use the Handy population estimate as a forecast.
