1. Define the Hamburg service area before setting a budget
The available Census record identifies Hamburg township and its relationship to Livingston County. It does not establish the boundaries Google will use for Local Services Ads, and it does not show whether your firm wants to serve only Hamburg township, additional parts of Livingston County, or a broader Michigan area. Those are separate business decisions. Bosseo’s public LSA page says its program includes category and geography targeting, with service areas set deliberately around the case types and locations a firm wants. That makes geographic scope an implementation question rather than something to infer from the township population.
Recommended approach
Start with a written service-area decision: the communities you accept, the communities you do not accept, and the travel or consultation limits that affect intake. Ask Bosseo to review how those choices map to available Google categories and service areas. Keep Hamburg township, Livingston County and any wider Michigan coverage distinct in reporting so a lead is not treated as local merely because it mentions Hamburg.
