1. Start with the geographic labels your firm actually uses
The U.S. Census Bureau records Flushing as a municipality in Genesee County, Michigan, with a 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate of 8,284 and a margin of error of 30. That is population information for Flushing city; it does not establish legal demand, search behavior, competition or financial opportunity. In an ROI review, the distinction matters. A city target, a county target and a broader Michigan target should not be treated as interchangeable rows in a report. Ask which geographic label accompanies each ranking, call, form or lead, and whether the label describes the search target, the page, the caller or another field.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how geographic information is represented in the dashboard before you approve reporting conventions. Decide which Flushing and Genesee County labels your firm needs to review, then document what each label means. Do not use the Census population estimate as a forecast or as a substitute for measured marketing data.
