1. Define what “local” means before reading the numbers
A Columbia law firm may discuss Columbia township, Jackson County, nearby metropolitan areas or Michigan as separate service areas. The Census record identifies Columbia township as a municipal-town in Jackson County; it does not establish a market boundary for your practice. That distinction matters because a dashboard can only answer a geographic question that the firm has actually defined. A ranking for a Columbia target is not automatically evidence of performance across Jackson County or Michigan. Likewise, a call from somewhere in the county does not prove that a particular page or search produced it.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how location labels are defined in the report and how the firm will distinguish Columbia township from Jackson County and broader Michigan coverage. Agree on the geography attached to each tracked target, lead and matter before using the data for budget or practice-area decisions.
