1. Set the geographic boundary before reviewing intake
Your firm may describe its service area as Coldwater, Branch County or a broader Michigan market. Those are different geographic scopes. The Census records Coldwater as a municipality in Branch County, Michigan, with an estimated population of 13,671 in the 2020–2024 ACS 5-year data. That is context for deciding which calls belong in a local intake review; it is not evidence that a particular number of people will contact your firm or that your team needs a particular staffing model. Intake Coach should therefore be assessed against the calls and matters your firm actually handles, not against population alone.
Recommended approach
Write down the geographic boundaries you want to recognize during intake. Then identify which locations, courts, deadlines and jurisdictions affect qualification. Ask whether the coaching report can help your team notice missing location or jurisdiction questions in the conversations you choose to review. Keep Coldwater and Branch County distinct when they lead to different ownership or escalation decisions.
