1. Set the geographic brief before selecting stories
Bosseo’s public Legal News page says its system monitors local and national legal-news sources for a firm’s state and matches stories to its practice areas. Your firm should therefore define Michigan as the initial state scope and decide how Caledonia and Kent County fit into the firm’s service language. Caledonia township is in Kent County, but the township, the county and the wider metropolitan area are not interchangeable audiences. A page about a Michigan law change may be relevant statewide without being a Caledonia page. A Kent County incident may deserve local context without implying that every township resident is a prospective client.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how geographic relevance would be handled before approving content. Decide which stories should use Michigan-wide framing, which may mention Kent County, and which—if any—are appropriate for Caledonia-specific language. Do not use the township’s population estimate as a forecast of demand or as a reason to publish pages unrelated to the firm’s actual work.
