1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
The U.S. Census Bureau records Boston township as a municipal-town in Ionia County, Michigan, with a 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate of 6,065 and a margin of error of 18. That is geographic context, not evidence of legal demand, search volume, lead volume or revenue. Your attribution review should therefore distinguish Boston township from Ionia County, any metropolitan area you serve and the broader Michigan market. A lead from a Boston township page is not automatically a lead from the entire county, and a county inquiry should not be assigned to the township without a reliable record.
Recommended approach
Define the geographic fields you want to review before changing budget or coverage. At minimum, decide how your team will distinguish a Boston township inquiry, an Ionia County inquiry and an inquiry from elsewhere in Michigan. Use those distinctions to inspect actual journeys rather than treating the population estimate as a forecast.
