1. Make Michigan scope explicit before reviewing stories
Bosseo’s public Legal News page describes monitoring of local and national legal-news sources for a firm’s state and practice areas. A Bedford firm should therefore decide whether its useful coverage is limited to Bedford, extends across Calhoun County, or reaches a broader Michigan service area. Those are different geographic choices. Bedford charter township is recorded in Calhoun County, but the population estimate for the township does not establish demand in the county, a metropolitan area, or Michigan as a whole. It also does not show that residents have a particular legal need.
Recommended approach
Bring a written service-area definition to the consultation. Separate Bedford matters from Calhoun County matters and from statewide issues. Ask how a proposed story would be filtered when its facts concern another Michigan community, and whether the page would clearly explain the geographic relevance rather than attaching a Bedford reference without a legal reason.
