1. Start with the geography you actually serve
Your firm may describe its service area as Ash, Monroe County, Michigan, or a broader territory. Those labels are not interchangeable. The Census record identifies Ash township as a municipal-town and records its county relationship as Monroe County. It does not establish how many people are searching for legal help, how many inquiries exist, or whether a particular channel performs well. Attribution should therefore begin with a service-area decision: which geographic information is relevant to intake, and how will your team distinguish Ash-related inquiries from other matters?
Recommended approach
In a consultation, define the geographic fields and service-area groupings you need to review. Do not treat the Ash population estimate as a forecast. Use it to identify the place under discussion, then evaluate actual journeys and outcomes associated with the firm’s marketing and intake activity.
