1. Start with the geographic question, not a population forecast
Alma city and Gratiot County are not interchangeable audiences. A firm may serve people in Alma, elsewhere in Gratiot County, or a broader Michigan territory. A review strategy should therefore identify the geographic coverage the firm actually wants to communicate. The Census record establishes Alma’s municipal boundary and its relationship to Gratiot County; it does not show where prospective clients search, which legal matters they need or how many inquiries a firm may receive.
Recommended approach
Before changing the review program, list the locations and service areas the firm is prepared to serve. Review whether the Google Business Profile, website contact information and review responses describe that coverage accurately. Measure inquiries by service and geography rather than treating Alma’s population as a demand estimate.
