1. Choose a footprint that matches your actual service area
Bosseo says firms can choose statewide coverage or limit the program to selected counties. For an Oxford firm, the relevant geographic fact is that Oxford CDP is recorded in Worcester County. That does not mean every city in the county is an appropriate target, and it does not prove that a countywide page set will produce inquiries. It does provide a precise starting point for a coverage conversation: which Worcester County communities does the firm genuinely serve, and which services does it accept there?
Recommended approach
Begin with the firm’s real service area rather than treating Oxford’s population as a demand forecast. Separate Oxford from the rest of Worcester County in the planning discussion, then decide whether a county-only footprint is more appropriate than statewide coverage. Exclude locations where the firm cannot responsibly serve clients or where the page would lack useful local information.
