1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Millis is recorded as a municipal town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts. That relationship matters when you review attribution: a Millis inquiry should not automatically be grouped with every Massachusetts inquiry, every Norfolk County inquiry or every metropolitan-area inquiry. Households, individuals and geographic service areas are different units. Attribution can be useful only when your firm decides how those areas should be identified and reported. The population estimate does not establish that residents need a particular practice area, use a particular channel or will become clients.
Recommended approach
Before evaluating performance, define the geographic labels your intake team already uses or should review: Millis, the remainder of Norfolk County, other Massachusetts locations and any broader service area. Ask whether location is collected consistently, whether it is available by the prospective client or inferred from another record, and how uncertain or incomplete locations will be handled. Review each geographic grouping separately rather than turning the Census estimate into a demand claim.
