1. Set the geographic scope before asking for reviews
Fruitland and Wicomico County are not interchangeable geographic labels. The Census identifies Fruitland city as a municipality in Wicomico County, while your firm may serve clients from Fruitland, elsewhere in the county, or across Maryland. That distinction matters when you decide which profile represents the practice, which clients belong in a review request audience, and which local searches or service areas deserve attention. Population is useful context for defining the place, not a substitute for evidence about your clients or market.
Recommended approach
Map the firm’s actual service area from matter and intake records. Separate Fruitland clients from clients elsewhere in Wicomico County and from clients outside the county. Then review whether the Google Business Profile, public description and review-request language accurately represent the firm’s real geographic coverage. Do not use a broad county claim merely because Fruitland is located there.
