1. Start with the Easton service area, not a population assumption
A firm serving Easton may also define its work by Talbot County, Maryland, or a narrower service area. Those are different geographic choices. Bosseo’s public Video Intake page describes a website widget with question paths built around practice areas and routing by case type and location. That makes service-area definition an implementation question: should a visitor identify Easton, another Talbot County community, or a location outside the firm’s accepted scope? The Census record establishes Easton’s municipal relationship to Talbot County and reports 17,308 residents for the 2020–2024 ACS period. It does not establish that residents need a particular legal service or that the firm will receive a particular number of submissions.
Recommended approach
Write the accepted geography into the intake logic and review it with counsel before launch. Separate location from eligibility: a visitor’s Easton connection may be relevant, but it should not substitute for questions about matter type, timing, jurisdiction or conflicts. Keep the service area clear on the website so the intake does not invite matters the firm cannot handle.
