1. Define what “from Wells” means before you measure it
Wells is a town in York County, Maine. A geographic label alone does not tell you whether a person is seeking representation, where a matter arose, or whether the firm serves that matter. A lead may live in Wells, search for a Wells-related service, contact the firm from elsewhere in York County, or use a page that mentions Wells without being a Wells resident. Lead Attribution can show the landing page, referrer, channel and intake answers associated with a contact. That makes the first implementation decision a definition: which geographic signals matter to your firm, and which should remain separate?
Recommended approach
Decide how the firm will distinguish Wells-related inquiries from broader York County, Maine or nonlocal inquiries. Review whether location is captured in intake answers, whether the matter location differs from the person’s address, and whether staff should assign a geographic label only after review. Do not treat the town’s population estimate as a forecast of demand.
