1. Set the geographic boundary before reading the numbers
The Census record identifies Poland as a municipal town in Androscoggin County, Maine. It does not establish a market beyond the town, and it does not show whether people in Poland search for a particular legal service or contact a particular firm. That distinction matters when a dashboard displays city, county, state or other location data. A ranking or lead associated with Poland should not automatically be treated as evidence about all of Androscoggin County or all of Maine.
Recommended approach
At the consultation, define the exact geographic labels your firm wants to measure. Decide whether a report should separate Poland from Androscoggin County and from broader Maine coverage. Ask how location is assigned to rankings, calls, forms and matters, and require an exception process for records whose location is unknown or ambiguous.
