1. Make the geographic boundary explicit
Bosseo’s public Legal News page describes monitoring for a firm’s state and matching stories to its practice areas. Your firm may serve New Gloucester, the rest of Cumberland County, other parts of Maine, or a combination of areas. Those are different editorial choices. A story involving New Gloucester may be locally relevant, while a Maine statute or statewide enforcement action may matter to clients who never live in the town. Conversely, a national story may be legally interesting but too remote to support a useful local page. The Census record establishes New Gloucester’s relationship to Cumberland County, but it does not show where prospective clients search or where your cases originate.
Recommended approach
At consultation, define the service geography for each practice area separately. Ask whether a page should address New Gloucester, Cumberland County, Maine, or a broader area, and require each proposed story to explain that geographic connection before approval.
