1. Define the geographic view before you interpret a number
Farmington town and Franklin County are different geographic scopes. A firm may want to understand activity associated with Farmington, activity across the county, or a broader Maine service area. Those views should not be blended into one unexplained total. The Census records Farmington as a municipal town in Franklin County and reports a 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate of 8,157, with a margin of error of 23. That establishes geographic context only; it does not establish search demand, competition, leads, cases or revenue. Bosseo’s public ROI Dashboard page says the product can show keyword rankings, city data, leads and source information. Ask how each geographic label would be defined in your firm’s view.
Recommended approach
Bring a written list of locations your firm actually serves. Decide whether Farmington, Franklin County, Maine, or another approved area is the reporting scope for each practice area. Require the consultation to distinguish location attached to a ranking, call, lead and matter rather than treating every record as Farmington activity.
