1. Define the Buxton geography before reading the numbers
The Census record identifies Buxton town and its relationship to York County. Those are different geographic levels, and a law firm may serve a footprint that includes Buxton, other York County communities, or areas beyond the county. The dashboard page describes tracking for service-and-city targets and says its data can be viewed by city, but the correct boundaries for your firm still need to be agreed. A count labelled “Buxton” should not quietly be interpreted as all of York County, and a county result should not be presented as proof of Buxton-specific activity.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how location labels are defined in the dashboard, how service-area targets are separated, and whether a report can distinguish town-level observations from broader county or statewide views. Decide in advance which geography belongs in partner discussions. Treat the Buxton population estimate as context only; it cannot establish demand, competition, case volume or revenue.
