1. Set the geographic boundary before reading the numbers
Scott and Lafayette Parish are not interchangeable labels. Scott is a municipality; Lafayette Parish is the recorded county relationship for the city. A dashboard view for Scott should not silently be treated as a parish-wide view, a metropolitan-area view or a Louisiana-wide view. The population estimate for Scott is useful for identifying the local jurisdiction under review, but it cannot establish how many people need legal help or how many searches, calls or matters a firm should expect.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show exactly how location is represented in ranking targets, lead records and reporting filters. Decide whether your firm wants to evaluate Scott alone, Scott together with Lafayette Parish, or a broader service area. Record those choices before comparing periods. If one screen combines geographies, require the labels to remain visible so a Scott observation is not mistaken for a parish or state result.
