1. Define the geography before you interpret a number
Your firm may describe its service area using Berea, Madison County, Kentucky or another geographic relationship. Those labels are not interchangeable. The Census records Berea city as a municipality in Madison County, and reports a 2020–2024 ACS 5-year population estimate of 15,786. That establishes the place and its county relationship; it does not establish search demand, legal need, competition or expected case volume. A dashboard is only useful when every geographic label has a defined meaning. Otherwise, a city figure, a county figure and a statewide figure can appear in the same discussion without being comparable.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how geographic dimensions would be named and separated in the proposed measurement approach. Decide whether a report should distinguish Berea city from Madison County and from broader Kentucky activity. Record whether a city refers to a search target, a caller’s location, an intake field or the location associated with a matter. Do not approve a dashboard view until your team can explain what each geographic value represents.
