1. Define what “local” means before reading the board
Your firm may serve Nevada, Story County, a wider Iowa area or several distinct service locations. Those are not interchangeable reporting labels. The Census record identifies Nevada as a municipality in Story County, while the Bosseo page describes tracking for service-and-city targets and says the dashboard can show which cities produce calls. Before treating a city result as a business result, decide whether a lead belongs to Nevada, another Story County community, a broader Iowa location or an area outside your intended service territory. The population estimate of 6,983 is useful for identifying the city and its scale, but it cannot answer whether a practice area has demand or whether a marketing channel produces signed matters.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how city, county and state labels are defined in the dashboard. Agree on the geographic fields you will use for rankings, calls, leads and matters, and do not combine them into one “local” number without a clear rule.
