Start with the footprint you can actually serve
Bosseo’s public product page describes two geographic options: statewide coverage or a tighter footprint limited to counties selected by the firm. Marion’s recorded county relationship is Linn County. That makes Linn County a relevant boundary to review, but it does not establish that every city in the county is part of your market or that statewide coverage is appropriate. A useful plan should distinguish Marion from Linn County and from Iowa as a whole. It should also identify whether your firm serves individuals, households, businesses, or another defined client group. The Marion population estimate cannot answer those service-area questions.
Recommended approach
Bring a current list of cities and counties your attorneys are prepared to serve. Ask Bosseo to compare a Linn County footprint with a broader Iowa footprint without treating population as a demand forecast. Decide whether each proposed location has a genuine relationship to your practice, a usable contact path, and enough firm-specific information to make a page helpful.
