Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Centerville city and Appanoose County are not interchangeable audiences. A firm may serve people in Centerville, elsewhere in Appanoose County, or a wider Iowa service area. Attribution should therefore preserve the page, channel and intake information associated with each inquiry rather than treating every contact as one undifferentiated local lead. The Census population figure can help define the local context for a review, but it cannot establish how many people need legal help or how many will contact your firm.
Recommended approach
Before evaluating attribution, define the geographic questions your intake team needs answered: whether an inquiry concerns Centerville, another Appanoose County community, or a service area outside the county; whether a landing page reflects the firm’s actual coverage; and whether a matter belongs to a practice area the firm accepts. Review those fields with Bosseo rather than assuming that a city page, county reference or population estimate represents demand.
