1. Start with Burlington’s actual service area, not a population assumption
The Census record identifies Burlington as a city in Des Moines County. It does not establish how many prospective clients contact a particular firm, where those people live, which matters they need or how quickly they expect a response. For automation, that distinction matters. A firm serving Burlington may also receive inquiries from elsewhere, while a firm focused on the city may still need different paths for different matter types. The first review should therefore define the geographic and practice boundaries used in your existing intake—not convert a population estimate into a forecast. Bosseo’s public Automation page describes a process for mapping where leads come from, who handles them, what system they should enter and what happens next.
Recommended approach
Bring a current description of your service area and intake sources to the consultation. Decide whether routing should be organized by matter type, geography, urgency, attorney or another rule your firm already uses. Keep population context separate from operational evidence.
