Start with the geography your firm actually serves
The U.S. Census Bureau records Terre Haute city as a municipality in Vigo County, Indiana, with a 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate of 58,427 and a margin of error of 31. That is geographic and population context, not proof of legal demand, search volume, competition, leads or revenue. Your dashboard should therefore distinguish Terre Haute from Vigo County and any other service area you choose to measure. A single “local” total can conceal whether an inquiry came from the city, elsewhere in the county or outside your intended scope.
Recommended approach
During evaluation, ask to see geography as a defined field rather than an informal label. Decide whether reporting should separate Terre Haute city from Vigo County and record how location is assigned to calls, forms and matters. If your practice serves Indiana beyond Vigo County, keep those areas distinct instead of treating all Indiana activity as Terre Haute performance.
