1. Set the geographic boundary before judging review performance
A Gary firm may serve Gary, other parts of Lake County, or a wider Indiana market. Those are different service areas and should not be collapsed into one audience. The Census record identifies Gary city as a municipality in Lake County, but it does not show where your clients come from or which matters are appropriate for a review request. A useful assessment therefore starts with your actual service geography: the location shown on your Google Business Profile, the communities you serve, and any practice-specific limits on taking new matters. Review activity should be interpreted against that boundary rather than against population alone.
Recommended approach
Bring a current service-area description, Google Business Profile details, and a list of practice areas to the consultation. Decide whether the program should focus on Gary, Lake County, or a broader Indiana audience, and define which inquiry types count as qualified.
