1. Set the geographic boundary before selecting stories
Bosseo’s public Legal News description says its service matches stories to a firm’s practice areas and state. Your firm still needs to define what “local” means operationally. Danville is recorded as a municipality in Hendricks County, Indiana; the population estimate applies to the town, not automatically to the county, a metropolitan area, or every household and individual nearby. A page about an Indiana law change may be relevant statewide, while a page about an incident may require a narrower geographic description. Those are different editorial decisions.
Recommended approach
Bring a service-area map or written list to the consultation. Separate Danville, Hendricks County, any other counties you serve, and statewide matters. Ask how geographic relevance will be reviewed before approval. Do not use the Danville population figure as a substitute for a demand study.
