1. Set the geographic question before reading the number
A law firm may describe its market as Bluffton, Wells County, Indiana or a wider service area. Those are not interchangeable. The Census record identifies Bluffton city as a municipality within Wells County, and records a population estimate for the city—not for every household, individual, legal matter or potential client in the county. That distinction matters when a dashboard presents city data, county data or a broader state view. Bosseo’s public ROI Dashboard text says that users can review keyword rankings, case-type data and city information. During evaluation, ask which geographic label belongs to each metric. A ranking for a Bluffton target should not be treated as a ranking for all of Wells County, and a call from a county resident should not automatically validate a city-specific campaign.
Recommended approach
Request a walkthrough that uses separate geographic labels for Bluffton, Wells County and any wider area your firm actually serves. Decide in advance which geographic relationships belong in monthly budget discussions and which should remain contextual. Do not use the Census population estimate as a forecast of demand or return.
