Start with the geography your firm actually serves
The U.S. Census Bureau records Waterloo as a municipality in Monroe County, Illinois. Its 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate is 11,129, with a margin of error of 38. That is a description of the city population estimate; it does not establish how many people need legal help, search online, call a firm or become clients. For an ROI Dashboard, the important implementation question is how geography is defined. “Waterloo” may refer to the city, while a firm’s service area may include other parts of Monroe County or locations elsewhere in Illinois. Those categories should not be silently combined. Ask to see how city, county and broader service-area information would appear in reporting, and whether a lead’s location is a recorded field, a classification, an attribution value or something else.
Recommended approach
Bring a written geographic map of the matters you accept. Separate Waterloo city from Monroe County and from any wider Illinois service area. Decide which geographic questions the dashboard must answer before reviewing totals.
