1. Define the geographic boundary before selecting stories
Sandwich has recorded relationships with DeKalb County and Kendall County. That relationship does not, by itself, establish that a story from either county is relevant to the firm or that people in either county are searching for counsel. It does create a practical scoping question: should the firm address Sandwich alone, both listed counties, Illinois statewide developments, or a wider area the firm actually serves? Bosseo’s public Legal News page says its service matches stories to a firm’s practice areas and state. The firm should therefore decide how local and statewide coverage will relate to its real service area before approving pages.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how geographic relevance would be evaluated for Sandwich, DeKalb County, Kendall County and Illinois. Keep a story only when its legal question, affected audience and firm service area align. Do not use the city’s population estimate as a forecast of audience or business opportunity.
