1. Set the geographic boundary before discussing coverage
Bosseo’s public Legal News description says its monitoring is matched to a firm’s practice areas and state. The Census identifies Rock Island city’s county relationship as Rock Island County. Those are not interchangeable geographic labels: a page about an Illinois development, a Rock Island County matter and a Rock Island city event can serve different readers. Decide whether your intended audience is limited to Rock Island, includes Rock Island County, or extends elsewhere in Illinois. Do not use the city’s population estimate as a proxy for the size of any legal-news audience.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo how geographic relevance would be handled for your selected practice areas. Review whether proposed pages clearly identify the applicable state, county or municipality, and whether the legal explanation remains useful without implying that every reader is a Rock Island resident.
