1. Define the Plano service area before spending
Plano is recorded as a city in Kendall County, Illinois. That geographic relationship should be reflected in the questions you ask about coverage: do you want inquiries from Plano alone, from elsewhere in Kendall County, or from additional areas your firm actually serves? The Census population record cannot answer that. It does not show how many people search for a lawyer, which practice areas they need, or how many firms compete for an inquiry. Bosseo’s public Local Service Ads page says its program includes category and geography targeting, with service areas set deliberately. That makes geographic scope an implementation decision, not an assumption drawn from population.
Recommended approach
List the locations you accept, the locations you do not accept and any travel or consultation limits. Compare that list with the service-area settings available for your intended Google profile. Keep Plano, Kendall County and any broader Illinois coverage distinct in internal reporting so an inquiry is not credited to the wrong geography.
