1. Start with the firm’s actual service area
The Census record identifies Peru as a municipality and records relationships with Bureau County and LaSalle County. Those geographic relationships should inform the questions you review, but they should not be treated as proof that visitors from either county need a particular type of legal service. A Peru firm may serve only part of that geography, serve clients beyond it, or use different boundaries for different practice areas. Video Intake should therefore reflect your stated service area rather than assume that every visitor is a fit.
Recommended approach
Before a consultation, list the locations your firm accepts for each practice area. Review whether a visitor should be asked where the matter occurred, where the person lives, or which court or agency is involved. Decide when a location answer should lead to review, referral, or a request for more information. Keep those rules tied to your firm’s authority and service decisions, not to the city’s population.
