1. Set the geographic boundary before asking for reviews
Northfield’s recorded county relationship is Cook County. That is useful for defining the starting location in a reputation review, but it does not mean a firm should treat Northfield or Cook County as its entire market. A law firm may serve people who search by municipality, county, metropolitan area, practice area or a broader Illinois relationship. Those geographic categories should not be blended. Bosseo’s public page places its review product around Google Business Profile and local map visibility. The practical question is whether the firm’s profile and review language accurately support the locations and services the firm actually serves.
Recommended approach
Begin with a documented service-area review: Northfield, Cook County, any other areas the firm intentionally serves, and the practice categories it is prepared to discuss. Separate established coverage from areas the firm is merely considering. Do not ask clients to describe matters, locations or outcomes in a way that could disclose confidential information. Use the consultation to decide which geographic signals belong in the profile and which should remain outside the plan.
