1. Set the geographic boundary before discussing budget
Your firm may serve Hazel Crest, other Cook County communities, or a broader Illinois area. Those are different targeting decisions. A municipality, a county, a metropolitan area, the state and the households or individuals within them should not be treated as interchangeable. The Census record identifies Hazel Crest village as a municipality in Cook County and reports its population estimate; it does not say where prospective clients search, how many law firms compete, or how many matters exist. Bosseo’s Local Service Ads page describes category and geography targeting, so the useful first question is not “How large is Hazel Crest?” It is “Which locations and case types should the firm pay to reach?”
Recommended approach
Bring a service-area map to the consultation. Mark Hazel Crest separately from the rest of Cook County and identify locations you will accept, decline or review case by case. Keep targeting broad enough to reflect your actual intake capacity, but do not use the Hazel Crest population estimate as a forecast.
