1. Start with the geography behind the number
A local dashboard can make location-based reporting appear precise while still leaving the underlying geography unclear. Crystal Lake is recorded as a city in McHenry County. That relationship should be reflected in the way your firm names locations, reviews campaigns and interprets calls. A Crystal Lake result is not automatically a McHenry County result, and neither should be treated as evidence about all of Illinois. Bosseo’s public ROI Dashboard page says it tracks service-and-city keyword targets, rankings and city data. During evaluation, ask how the dashboard distinguishes a Crystal Lake target from a countywide or statewide target. Also ask whether a location label describes a keyword, a caller’s stated location, a landing page, or another field.
Recommended approach
Use a written geography dictionary before reviewing performance. Include Crystal Lake, McHenry County and any wider Illinois areas your firm intentionally serves. Treat the Census population estimate as context—not as a forecast of cases or marketing opportunity—and require each location view to explain what it measures.
