1. Start with the geographic reality of your practice
Chicago city is a municipality in Illinois with a 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate of 2,711,226 and a margin of error of 63. The Census record identifies relationships with Cook County and DuPage County. That establishes a substantial geographic setting for planning, but it does not establish search demand, competition, legal need, leads or revenue. It also does not mean that every person in the city or either county is a prospective client. Your review program should therefore reflect the places and matter types you actually serve rather than treating a broad population figure as a marketing forecast.
Recommended approach
Map your service area separately from your office location. Decide whether requests should be associated with Chicago, Cook County, DuPage County, another Illinois location or no geographic label at all. Then compare reputation activity with qualified inquiries from those defined areas. Bosseo’s consultation can be used to evaluate geographic coverage and the measurement questions that matter to your firm.
