1. Define the geographic frame before reading the numbers
The U.S. Census Bureau records Champaign as a municipality in Champaign County, Illinois, with a 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate of 89,996 and a margin of error of 68. That is population context, not proof of legal demand, search volume, competition, leads or revenue. A useful dashboard must therefore distinguish a Champaign city result from a Champaign County result and from activity elsewhere in Illinois. Bosseo’s public ROI Dashboard page says its reporting can show keyword rankings, city data, calls, leads and matters. During review, ask how those geographic labels are defined and displayed.
Recommended approach
Request a written geographic definition for every local measure: target location, tracked service area, reporting period and treatment of people who call from outside the target area. Do not accept population as a substitute for demand evidence.
