1. Set the geographic boundary before reading a number
A Bolingbrook report can become ambiguous if the firm serves more than the village itself. The Census record identifies Bolingbrook village as a municipality and records relationships with DuPage County and Will County. Those are different geographic levels. A dashboard question such as “How is Bolingbrook performing?” should therefore specify whether it concerns the municipality, either county, Illinois, or another service area selected by the firm. Population eligibility is not proof that residents are searching for counsel or that a particular practice area is active.
Recommended approach
At the consultation, write down the exact place labels that matter to the firm. Review whether rankings, calls, forms and leads can be interpreted by the geographic scope the firm actually wants to manage. Keep Bolingbrook, DuPage County, Will County and statewide activity separate unless the firm deliberately chooses to combine them.
